A Quick Intro

I think many conservatives who are longing for a return to the "good old days" of Methodism don't really understand the historical thought of the church. I could be wrong though. This blog will chronical my journey through various books and papers from the history of Methodism in America.

To read my thoughts on broad and modern issues visit Christian Dissent.

Comments:
It seems that Methodism has historically been on the forefront of Social Justice since John Wesley. I wonder what the "good old days" are supposed to be.

The Good old days might include being among the first to have female pastors. The good ol days might be ordaining Richard Allen.

Would the good ol days include being one of the first churches to support the Labor Movement?

Or do we just miss having 11,000,000 members in the late 1960's?

I think that this is a really, really cool project. I hope you keep it up. If I find something worthwhile to contribute I'll send it your way. I am a history major.
